June 7

Deadline to officially open your pre-med file.

Meet with your own Pre-medical Advisor first to check in about your application readiness. Create an account in PrivateFolio to start collecting your letters of evaluation needed for your medical school application. You will also need to complete an intake form (coming soon) to share more about your metrics and experiences, as well as include drafts of your written application materials.

You will then meet with the Associate Director of Health Professions Advising, Maureen Leong-Kee, for an Application Intake Meeting to open your premed file.

Contact via email: premed-committee@oregonstate.edu.

June 21

All regular letters of evaluation are due in PrivateFolio (some exceptions may be discussed with the premed committee coordinator(s)). Committee letters will be written as letter files are completed and can be submitted after students submit their medical school applications. Medical schools usually start reviewing letter files after students have submitted their secondary applications.

Mid-July

Submit your application by this time to optimize your application status.

September

Aim to submit secondary applications by September. Interviews run from September through the following April.

April 30

Students will know if they have been accepted, rejected, or wait-listed, and after this date applicants may not hold more than one seat at a med school.

It is in the applicant's best interest to complete everything as early as possible. LATE = REJECT OR ALTERNATE!

Reapplicants

Reapplicants must meet the same deadlines, complete the reapplicant information sheet found here, and make an appointment with one of the Associate Director of Health Professions Advising through Handshake or Bookings.
